Child ABA Therapy
Child ABA therapy is highly effective for children with autism from ages two to twelve. Whether you have a middle schooler on the spectrum or a toddler who needs support, our Applied Behavior Analysis therapy programs can help your child succeed. Using methods backed by decades of evidence and hundreds of research studies, we help children strengthen their current skills and learn new ones.
Each child has a unique set of gifts and challenges. Because of this, we realize that not every therapy plan will work with every child. We customize our programs to meet the needs of each individual and your family’s goals.
Through training designed and implemented by certified ABA professionals, your child will develop critical social, communication, and general life skills that will be valuable to them throughout their life. Early intervention helps curb unwanted behavior and bad habits while also increasing the effectiveness of the therapy. The earlier your child starts therapy, the earlier they can start building their inherent strengths and learning new skills.
ABA therapy programs typically require 20-40 hours each week for up to 3 years. Each program is designed by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and conducted by an in-house Registered Behavior Technician (RBT), both of whom are fully licensed by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board. For toddlers and pre-K children, ABA therapy will be an all-day program specifically tailored toward getting children ready for kindergarten. We also offer after-school therapy programs for older kids, as well as other customized programs that will provide your child with daily therapy.
ABA Therapy Process
Every therapy program starts with one of our Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) conducting an assessment before recommending certain therapy goals. After getting to know both the client and family, the BCBA will design a therapy plan to meet your child’s specific needs. Next, a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) will work with the child and family on learning new skills while at the same time recording data on your child’s progress. Using this data, BCBAs continually assess therapy plans and adjust them according to the client’s goals.
An official autism diagnosis is required before your child begins ABA therapy. However, if you’re struggling to find a professional to help you with this process, ABA Centers of New Jersey offers thorough autism testing and diagnosis.
