Autism Diagnosis

Autism DiagnosisBefore children can begin an ABA therapy program, they must receive an official autism diagnosis. However, many families struggle to find autism screening specialists who offer timely services. Our certified professional team with decades of combined experience in the autism field can perform evaluation, screening, and testing for autism.

What is the Autism Diagnosis Process Like?

ABA Centers of New Jersey provides a simplified, streamlined process for autism diagnosis and testing.

We begin with an initial consultation to ask some general questions, address your concerns, and verify your insurance benefits. Depending on your preferences and schedule, we can also review appointment options and available time slots.

After the initial consultation has concluded, our clinical team will meet with your child to provide a series of tests, including the ADOS-2 (Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule), which is a standardized assessment tool. Many of the tests are play-based, but they are all designed with autism screening in mind. This screening will typically last up to four hours.

Once the autism diagnosis appointment is complete, our experts will analyze the data from the assessment. This will typically take one to two weeks. During your follow-up appointment, we will share our insights with you, as well as any applicable autism diagnosis and next steps.

Testing and autism diagnosis are only the first steps toward beginning ABA therapy. Through science-based approaches and customized plans specifically tailored to your child, you can count on ABA Centers of New Jersey to be there every step of the way.
